Itron's Waseca facility is looking for an Associate Facilities Technician to work Monday through Friday on an afternoon/evening shift. This facility provides the engineering, production, testing and marketing for Itron's gas and water mountable radio modules for the utility industry. These modules attach to meters and transmit consumption, tamper, and other pertinent data to a collection system for use in utility billing, demand management, and conservation programs.
In this role, you must be able to handle mechanical problems as needed in a plant environment. You will be the maintaining the recycling area. You will be assisting with maintaining daily operations of the physical facility; supporting facilities staff by performing "handyman" maintenance duties such as furniture moves, simple electrical projects, spot painting and/or cleaning, light construction and/or exterior cleanup. You will also be operating site equipment as needed, using hand and power tools as necessary and you may perform other activities such as audio:visual (AV) set up for meetings or conferences, inter:office mail deliveries, waste paper recycling, and stocking of employee break areas. Other duties may include maintaining documentation such as power diagrams, network diagram, space usage, etc. and also assisting with the editing of media materials, such as tapes and may provide support to vendors/contractors such as security force, or cafeteria.
Duties and Responsibilities:
: Notify management concerning need for repairs or additions to lighting, electrical, plumbing and other building related items.
: Perform general manual labor tasks.
: Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain plumbing fixtures in water and drainage systems.
: Handle the operations in the recycling area
: Troubleshoot, diagnose and solve mechanical problems.
: Operate, maintain and repair specialized equipment and machinery as needed
: Work in inclement weather for snow removal duties.
: Active member of the safety committee
: Responsible to help with new hire orientations
: Other duties as assigned
Experience:
This position requires a minimum of 0:1 year of related experience; ISO:OHSAS Auditor training would be a plus
Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Certification(s): Licensed Power Industrial Truck (PIT) Operator with the ability to become a certified trainer.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel small and medium sized components. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to lift weight or exert force up to 50 pounds. The employee in this position works in an environment where they may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, there is a risk of electrical shock, and there is vibration. The employee may be required to work with toxic or caustic chemicals, may be subject to higher noise levels, or work near moving mechanical parts.
